MEET THE CH-AERO TEAM
The weight watchers of the aviation industry

Coen Smit
Founder CH-Aero & Business Development
My aviation journey started in the early 1990s with the Dutch charter airline Air Holland. What began as a job as an aircraft mechanic quickly grew into a lifelong passion. Over the years, I took on different roles, from engineer and Line Maintenance Manager to Technical Director, always driven by a curiosity to learn, improve, and build something new.
When Air Holland went bankrupt in 2005, I saw an opportunity instead of a setback. I founded Stella Aviation Technics (SAT), which grew into an international line maintenance provider with hubs around the world. A few years later, in 2009, I co-founded CH-Aero together with several partners, combining experience, ambition, and a shared vision for the future.
Since then, it has been amazing to see CH-Aero grow into a trusted Weight & Balance specialist, supporting operators, MROs, leasing companies, and paint facilities worldwide. What I enjoy most is working with people across the industry, solving challenges together, and turning ideas into practical solutions.
Today, my focus is fully on Business Development, and I couldn't be more excited about it. After helping bring aircraft weighing solutions to customers across Europe and beyond, I'm now spending my time exploring new opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and working on the next generation of aviation solutions together with customers and industry experts. Seeing new ideas come to life and shape the future of our industry is what gives me energy every day.
With Michelle Arentz leading CH-Aero as Managing Director, I have the freedom to innovate. The aviation industry never stands still, and neither do we. The best part? We're only getting started.
Michelle Arentz
Managing Director
I joined CH-Aero more than two years ago as Commercial Director, and what started as an exciting new challenge quickly turned into a real passion for the company, the people, and the aviation industry.
One of the things I love most about aviation is the magic of it. No matter how often I see an aircraft take off, it still amazes me. Being part of an industry that connects people, cultures, and businesses all over the world is something I truly enjoy.
Over the past years, I have had the opportunity to work closely with operators, MROs, leasing companies, and paint facilities around the globe. Building long-term relationships, understanding our customers' needs, and finding solutions together is what gives me the most energy.
As of June 2026, I am proud and very excited to take on the role of Managing Director. Having learned so much from founder Coen Smit, our customers, and our dedicated team, I look forward to leading CH-Aero into its next chapter.
Together with our team, customers, and partners, I am excited about what lies ahead as we continue building success and growth.

Ravi Narain
Operations Manager
I've been working in aviation for nearly 20 years. Right after completing my studies, I started my career in both line and base maintenance environments and eventually became an FAA A&P and EASA B2 licensed engineer, with type ratings on the B737NG, B747 Classic, B757, B777, and B787.
My journey with CH-Aero started as a part-time assignment during busy periods, but it didn't take long before I was offered a full-time position. It was an opportunity I simply couldn't refuse.
Today, as Head of Operations, aircraft weighing is what I do best. Whether it's a narrowbody in Europe or a widebody on the other side of the world, there's a good chance you'll find me somewhere in a hangar with a set of scales and a cup of coffee. I spend a lot of my time travelling across Europe and beyond, helping operators, MROs, leasing companies, and paint facilities with accurate aircraft weighing projects.
What I enjoy most is being out in the field, working alongside customers and solving challenges on the spot.
And when I'm not around aircraft? You'll probably find me behind a DJ booth. Music has always been another passion of mine and, just like aviation, it's all about timing and precision.
Julian Smit
Commercial & Operational Support Officer
Aviation has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I performed my first aircraft weighing at the age of 12, and from that moment I knew this was something special. What started as curiosity quickly turned into a passion. By 16, I was already involved in weighing projects, and at 18, I became an independent aircraft weigher.
Today, I combine that passion with my role as Commercial & Operational Support Officer at CH-Aero. One day I'm in the office working on marketing, customer relations, project coordination, social media, or our website, and the next day I'm in a hangar weighing aircraft somewhere in Europe. That variety is exactly what I love about the job.
Being part of CH-Aero is something I'm incredibly proud of. As the next generation within the company, it's exciting to contribute to its future while learning from a team with tons of experience. Whether it's supporting customers, developing new ideas, or weighing aircraft on location, I'm always ready for the next challenge.

Alexandra Smit
Office Manager
My career in aviation began as a flight attendant, later progressing to the role of Purser, where I was responsible for leading cabin crews and training new flight attendants in onboard service and procedures.
After becoming a mother, I decided to step away from commercial aviation. However, my passion for the industry never disappeared, and I continued to stay involved through volunteer work as a flight attendant on the historic Dutch Catalina PH-PBY.
Today, I manage the back office at CH-Aero. In a business where priorities can shift quickly and no two days are ever the same, I focus on bringing structure, organization, and support to the team.
I look forward to supporting you and hopefully speaking with you soon.
Remko Klinkenberg
Operations
Hi, let me introduce myself, my name is Remko and I’ve been working in aviation for 11 years. While studying for my Aviation Operations degree I worked several jobs in Aviation, from a belly boy to Flight dispatcher. After getting my Operations Degree, I’ve worked in that position for 3+ years until sadly COVID-19 hit the aviation world. With the sudden lack of flights I’ve find myself in a position were I had to leave the Aviation world. Luckily a couple of months after that I got in Contact with the CH-Aero team, and really enjoyed the team and work from day 1. They offered me a part time position in the company, which I couldn’t say no to. And I’m glad I’ve been able to return in the Aviation business with such a great team behind me.
