Welcome to the CH-Academy

At CH-Aero, we don’t believe in generic training.
Our Weight & Balance courses are delivered on-site by an international expert and tailored to your aircraft type and operational context.

Whether you’re an engineer, fleet manager, or technician — we teach you what truly matters when it comes to safe, accurate and compliant aircraft weighing.

What can you expect?

✔ 1.5-day intensive theory course
✔ Optional hands-on training: weigh an aircraft yourself
✔ Annual 1-day refresher training available
✔ Up to 10 participants per training
✔ Conducted in English at your location
✔ Certificate of Completion issued by CH-Aero

Aircraft Weight & Balance Course Topics

Principles of Aircraft Weight and Balance.

You will learn what terms like arm, moment, reference datum, and pitch attitude really mean, and how they interact to define the aircraft’s center of gravity.
We explain the role of altitude variation, load distribution, and why even minor shifts matter for flight performance.

Preparing Aircraft for Weighing.

You will learn how to level the aircraft, drain fuel, align the datum, apply pitch attitude correction, and verify the aircraft’s configuration.
We guide you through each step to ensure repeatable and compliant weighing results, regardless of aircraft type.

Determining Empty Weight & CG

Learn how to determine the empty weight and accurately calculate the center of gravity using the arm × moment method.
This module focuses on the aircraft types you operate, ensuring every calculation is relevant and practical.

Why Accurate Aircraft Weighing Matters

Incorrect weight and balance isn’t just a paperwork issue, it’s a safety risk.
We show you how errors in CG, MAC, or empty weight can lead to instability, control issues, or regulatory violations.
This section explains why accurate aircraft weighing is essential for safe operations

Weight & Balance Certificate.

Upon successful completion of the training, participants receive a CH-Aero Certificate of completion.

This certificate confirms your understanding of key principles such as centre of gravity (CG) calculations, empty weight determination, MAC reference, Arm and Moment (...) and aircraft weighing procedures.

Our training reflects industry best practices and is aligned with EASA and FF guidance, using procedures that meet ISO 9001 certified standards.

A yearly refresher is available to help participants keep their knowledge and weighing skills up to date
